This weeks lesson when so much better than last weeks!
I was a little apprehensive about today's lesson due to my recent panic attacks, I felt panicky before the lesson but as soon as I got into the car and was talking to my instructor i felt fine.
My starting off was good as was my drive , I didn't have to stop at many junctions although I did stall once at the traffic lights but I quickly recovered .
I managed to do 2 reverses and a turn in the road on my own with no help and so next week I am getting to move onto meeting. I am excited to go onto something new!
I also got a practice theory test from my instructor and so I will be trying that out over the next week.
On the negative side my belly piercing really hurt after sitting in the car for an hour and sweating because of the heat but as soon as I got home I cleaned it!
recently I've started to have panic attacks, so I've decided to come up with a list of things to do instead of panicking.
- Visit websites for help - yourlifeyourvoice.org, kooth.com,blackdogtribe.com
- Exercise - releases endorfins which improve mood and brain chemistry
- Art therapy - channelling what yr feeling into something creative helps
- Learn new things - small at first, this will give u a sense of achievement
- Volunteer work - Helps low self esteem, life experience, meet new people, good karma
- Join Clubs/Groups/Activities - meet like minded people and have new things in your life
- Distraction - play video games, read books, listen to pod casts, apps...apps...apps
I've ticked off number 5 on my bucket list:
Get a navel piercing
I got it yesterday before going to Uni'.
The piercer was really nice & put me at ease.
The pain:
The pain wasn't all that bad, the clamps were maybe a 2-out of-10. The actual piercing was a very sharp 4/5 - out of - 10. It wasn't an unbearable pain and it was over in a second.
The threading through of the bar felt very strange!
After I got up I went all dizzy and the piercer gave me a Lollypop haha! But all day at Uni I felt awful, it bled for 2 hours, I felt feverish dizy & sick, my stomach really hurt to the point where I could concentrate at Uni'.
The piercer & owner of the tattoo parlour were both really lovely and said to come back, which I did the piercer wiped up the blood and said it looks fine there's nothing wrong with it & said its probably just shock and gave me his number.
It was soooo hard to sleep on my back last night too!
The meal was beautiful, however the service left a little something to be desired.
So today driving didn't go well.
I haven't driven now for 10 days, since I have no one to practice with and I only have one hour lessons a week - but this week I had to swap Tuesday for Friday.
The drive started off ok, and then as usual (for the last 5-ish lessons) we went into the manoeuvres.
- The first sweeping reverse corner went well.
- The turn in the road went well.
- The sweeping reverse didn't go too well as it was up hill and I put too much wheel on and nearly hit the curb.
My actual drive after the manoeuvres didn't go well either, I stalled once - early twice. I messed up going into 2nd gear twice....and ugh my left corners weren't great.
I started off stressed before I even got into the car, and now, I'm even more stressed. I feel like I'm not getting anywhere as again next week will be the same manoeuvres *sighs*
I think it will be at least next year before I do my test.... :(
I also worked out that I've had 21.30 hours of driving
